The real differences

An AI toolbox vs an edit based on what gets views

Captions gives you a toolbox of AI features: auto edit, captions, eye-contact fix, noise cleanup and avatars. NexusClips makes the editing decisions for you based on how the most-viewed videos in your niche are edited: the hook, framing, zooms, captions and b-roll.

Where Captions is better: the phone app

Captions has native iOS and Android apps and generative features like AI avatars and eye-contact fix. NexusClips has no app; it works in the browser on desktop and phone. If you shoot and edit only on your phone, Captions feels more at home there.

AI credits vs unlimited

Captions runs its AI on monthly credits: 500 on Max and 1,400 on Frontier, and the free plan has none. NexusClips Pro is unlimited, with no credits to count.

Price

NexusClips Pro is $18.99/month or $89.99/year (about $7.50/month). Captions Max is $24.99/month and Frontier $69.99/month on iOS; its pricing page does not show yearly prices. Captions has a free plan with basic editing and no AI; NexusClips has one plan, Pro, unlimited.

Streams and long videos

Both turn long videos into clips. NexusClips is also built for streamers: it connects to Twitch, finds the moments you ask for in full streams, emails you when they are ready and has an optional "clip this" voice command for live streams. Captions does not mention Twitch.

Verdict

Which should you choose?

Choose NexusClips if you want each video edited like the ones getting views in your niche, make clips from long videos or streams, and do not want to count AI credits.

Choose Captions if you do everything on your phone and want a native app with eye-contact fix, AI avatars and captions in 100+ languages.
